Launching LifeUpdate into TestFlight.
But not yet publishing it to our friends to test. There was an issue with the apple sign in that by the time of writing this is fixed.

Last week was wild and busy. I actually launched our app into the apple TestFlight Store and the android internal beta. I merged some stuff from my friend who is on skitour right now, resolved some merge conflicts, reached a clean dev & master branch, tried to improve on his caching logic (but failed) and got into proxyman (because of the caching logic). After launching to TestFlight you immediately see a lot of bugs. Of which I fixed 10 on my train ride back to Munich. If I look back at what I got done last week it is crazy. But it feels a little too much if you are still visiting friends are on the road, have a lot to do in your 9-5. Then I tend to do some late night sessions and those never benefit me. After 8 o’clock there should be a coding & cutting ban. Because after that I can’t concentrate anymore, only stare at my laptop make slow progess and errors. Afterwards I have a bad mood. Let’s see what this week brings. I am at home again at least.
Monday Morning
I fixed a bug that sometimes people saw the onboarding and sometimes they did not. Now basically only the apple sign in blocks us from inviting more friends. But I cannot fix that. There is something wrong with the build and I don’t have the credentials of my friend so I cannot log in to his developer account to fix the provisioning profile. That means I have to teach myself in patience for at least one week. He is on a glacier right now without reception. I will probably continue developing features. I have notifications for new updates on my list and finishing the inspirations functionality, so an inspiration if added by the user is also visible in the feed.
Thursday Morning
Time passes somehow slow and fast. I feel like it is “already Thursday” again but also feel like “when will it be next week”, so my friend can fix the issue on iOS and we can release the app to all our friends. Anyways, now back to cutting a TikTok. Let’s see if I can finish it today. I would love posting a video again. See you tomorrow.
Finished it! And transformed it into a 16:9 video to see what performs better. Other than that I will dive into the LifeUpdate Code again. Not because there is an immediate bug that needs fixing, but because I like coding. I also could already think of the next app I want to code, if LifeUpdate does not take flight. Furthermore my idea is to get people to donate for LifeUpdate by setting up a subscription. I checked if this is possible with stripe, but you are only allowed to use a 3rd party payment provider (outside of apples in-app purchase system) for physical goods. So selling prints for example. So for a subscription/donation we would have to use what apple provides us.
The rest of the week
I was coding here and there. Setting Copilot to Claude mode using Sonnet is so OP! I was just prompting a new feature, let it code, and then checked with the github before/after functionality what changed and how it was implemented. You can spot some flaws here and there but for fast feature development for an app that has to align with 0 quality standards because no one is using it this is just perfect. I (or Claude) developed a feature that you can press and hold the video button and in that way upload a video outside of the normal upload interval. Now I want to set up push notifications if a new video was uploaded to your group. And since I am working with supabase mutations and having the edge functions also locally in my vs code, Claude can help with this super good as well.
Did it! Before I go for a coffee in the city.
See you next week! ✌🏽
