I wanted a place to collect all my project I ever worked on. Then I mixed it up with some CV like components and out came this portfolio page. In the future I want to share blog articles and link the corresponding TikToks. If nobody cares, I at least learned new technologies again with this project.

About
My first webpage with a cms (content management system) in the background. That means that I can edit all texts on this page via an admin console. For that I discovered payloadcms a self-hostable open-source solution for that. I am actually very proud that this project is completly based on self-hostable technology, which means I am paying around 3€ a month for a server at hetzner where I am running coolify, mongoDB, payload and my nextjs code instead of paying expensive monthly fees to SaaS companies.
Challenges
Setting up everything from the server via coolify to manage my services running to creating a mongoDB database and mixing payload with next.js was the biggest challenge. Actually it is not that hard if you take it step by step, read the docs and put in a little bit of time.
Results
I now have a platform to present myself. On my own blog I can practise storytelling and every upcoming project will have its place. And everything at a very low cost. So there is now pressure to create revenue anytime soon.
